Artist's Notes for The Thaw:
Not sure where this song came from. Just a metaphoric musing, accompanied by some quirky, repetitive chords. Who are these people? I don't know, but for some reason I always think of them as two women, and not necessarily in a romantic relationship, but maybe... My aim in recording it was to create a lush mood with a delicate pastiche of harmony.

Lyrics

The Thaw

A little green pushes its way out
With each bulbous sprout
And dirty crystal piles are all that's left in parking lots
Last week we wore our hats
It made our hair go flat
The air has lost its nip and now it’s not so raw
Oh, the thaw
The thaw

Your frigid stare left me with a chill
And it's with me still
A mighty glacier sat between us hard and slick
I'm dropping in my line
Fishing for a sign
Hoping vulnerability is not my fatal flaw
Oh, the thaw
Oh, the thaw
